Apparently Marcia Wallace died the other day?
I know in true simpsons tradition, Mrs. Krabappel will now be a retired character, but what I'm wondering is, how are they going to pull off introducing a new 4th grade teacher? What about her relationship with Ned? I know the producers at the show knew she was ill, so did they plan for something like this happening?

Yeah, I read about that the other day.
In Germany thy had the problem that Marge's voice died a few years ago. They replaced her with someone who sounded much more like the English Marge, but quite different from the original German one. Obviously caused a little outrage in the community. I personally coulnd't have cared less as I prefer to watch them in English anyway.
But retiring "Mrs. Crapapple"? I'm not sure how I feel about this. The heck, I just built her appartment building on this android Simpsons app. (If you have an android phone, do not start to play it! It's seriously addicting.) What will Seymour do?

The producers had hinted a little while ago that they planned to kill off a popular character, however Al Jean has now stated that it wasn't Edna, and that they had a whole story line planned around her newly married life with Ned Flanders.
so it seems they expected her to pull through.
